MIND OF ONE UNIVERSITY Statement of Purpose

                Mind of One University is being established in order to bring forth a global evolution in consciousness within humanity via international higher education for the purpose of adequately training the leadership of tomorrow in the sensibilities and practices whereby a sustainable civilization naturally unfolds.  The goal of the university (awarding degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level) is to offer a strong academic and provocative education as well as firsthand exposure to the world’s problems, while equipping the student with opportunities for practical interventions in the field.  The student is taught how to approach challenging issues with compassion, and is introduced to a deep understanding of the commonality of all people. 

                A two-year multi-interdisciplinary Core Curriculum is being developed, as a required basic introduction for all students, where the threading of self-evident laws and principles of truths that govern our universe weave bridges through previously arbitrarily segregated disciplines, thus allowing new doors of perception and new vistas of creation to evolve. 

                Moving beyond inductive and deductive reasoning, tapping into the inner resources of each individual, Mind of One University students will learn how inner awareness sparks spontaneous intuitive thinking, discovery, and creative and powerful inventiveness, and how living in harmony and alignment with the greater nature of the universe works.

Our students will learn to move beyond the self, and learn their place in the greater cosmology.  Each will be guided toward identifying their perfect life’s work, service and contribution to humanity, which supports a cascade effect that naturally brings all the rewards of peace, prosperity, happiness, and fulfillment to all beings on the planet.  Moving beyond the self, one inherits a larger consciousness, which enables the individual to investigate new worlds, rich in its consequent rewards of right living, right thinking, and right action.

Mind of One University teaches that all is possible: Peace, Sustainability, Love- the maintenance of cultural richness in the midst of the web of global diversity.  To achieve a successful unity among a struggling humanity demands a new vision in leadership, which will automatically end with a flowering of civilization.  Once we recapture the inner resources resplendent in pre-modernity, and can move to incorporate ancient wisdom with modern thought, rectify science with religion, and live without prejudice and greed, then we will have accomplished a new paradigm. 

Ethics as a common standard of living will be impressed upon our students, emphasizing self reliability, accountability and universal responsibility, which empowers the leaders of tomorrow and enables them to lead the world with clarity and correctness.  The University will focus on ethics on both an individual and group level, as much energy is generated through groups.  Mind of One University seeks to teach individuals how to channel the available energy of the world for the greater good of the planet and all humanity.  This perspective gives power to the individual and to mass consciousness to do what is right.

Mind of One University will be a fully accredited institution of higher education that will offer undergraduate as well as graduate degrees in all areas of scholarly endeavor.  In addition, Mind of One University will focus on changing the individual, which in turn will change the group, then change the world for the better.  Group work is quantum in nature, and hence worth attention.  The concept and practice of cooperation and not competition will be introduced as one of the pillars of the core work.  Students will be taught the art of global cooperation and goodwill.  Mind of One University will take this principle into all disciplines.  For example, students of the Economics College- or those with an interest, might try to design an economic model that can avoid sweatshops as a necessary consequence of capitalism.  The College of Medicine will focus on a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s place in nature; how to achieve balance and harmony; and support holistic, health promoting choices, rather than over emphasis on the illness itself.   That the College of Physical Sciences might look to religious and philosophic ancient wisdom practices to help solve present day scientific dilemmas, especially with the lure of the unified field theory, is another example of the cross-fertilization potential of an open-minded, inter-connected institution of higher learning.   Emphasis is laid on common ground, and the interrelatedness of all human concern.

              Mind of One University will offer the tools and the setting for a restructuring of the way the world faces challenges and confronts important issues.  Today people are taught to look out for themselves and win at all costs.  Mind of One University will seek to eliminate the us versus them attitude in our students, so that they, like our core materials may be disseminated around the globe for the betterment of humanity, and the assurance of a sustainable civilization.  Understanding, reflecting and actualizing the concept of the interconnectedness of the whole is tantamount to our survival.  Mind of One University hopes to operate as a free, and independent University system, one of sister universities of like mind around the world, strengthening our common hopes and dreams by group work for the common good and thereby enrich all citizens of planet earth.
